About my work

Since June 2014 I have been working as a massage therapist in our family business "Massage Atelier Köln". As a passionate athlete, I have always been fascinated by the brilliant structure and anatomy of the human body. I have completed my basic training in the field of massage therapy at the German Sport University Cologne, and complementing my training as a martial arts teacher, I have been highly motivated to further explore this subject on my own initiative.
In 2010, I met my wife Maya, who at the time had been working as a massage therapist for more than 10 years, among which almost two years in her own small practice in Ehrenfeld. Over the course of the following three years, she trained me in her unique method, the "three-phase treatment model: IDENTIFY-INVOLVE-RELEASE" developed by her, which I have since then been using in my work. I am enthusiastic about this extremely efficient concept, which allows me to always tailor my treatment precisely to the needs of the patient. My strong point is to intuitively detect blockages and dissolve them gently, but vigorously.

As a therapist, I specialize in the following areas:
• treatment of acute and chronic muscular imbalances
• treatment of "office tensions" (shoulder - neck - lower back - head)
• sports massages (particularly powerful and mobilizing)
• anti-stress massages to strengthen the immune system and increase general well-being
• personal training counseling / advice on the right level of sporting activities / presentation of exercises

Throughout my years of working as a massage therapist all my collected experiences and my growing understanding of how the energy flow within the body directs its level of health, have led me to develop an individual approach I named “Elemental Rebalance”.
According to both, western and eastern traditions, that there are five outer elements that constitute all matter (earth, water, fire, air and ether) in a spectacular dance of emptiness and form. These outer elements interact with the inner elements within our own physical body, and the potential and quality of these five elements also exist within our mind.
The mind’s ability to serve as the ground for all experience is the quality of earth; its continuity and adaptability is water; its clarity and capacity to perceive is fire; its continuous movement is air; and its unlimited emptiness is ether. It is not possible to divide the elements, because they are completely interdependent; they are indivisible. Every day stress, anxiety and disconnection can cause disturbances within the dynamic flow of the elements, causing imbalances that can be harmful to our physical and mental state of health.
My approach focuses on evaluating the patient’s individual elemental pattern, detecting flaws within the flow and, through a specific set of massage techniques dedicated to each element, rebalancing the body’s very own elemental energy field.
Patients throughout the session often enter a deep Alpha Waves State (Alpha being the frequency between our conscious thinking and the subconscious mind). Within this Flow State, deep changes within our spiritual awareness can happen, setting free healing energy and processes.

Biography

Nikolas Sievert was born on June 25, 1978 in Bielefeld. After graduating from high school and doing civilian service, he completed a one-year traineeship at a private art school. Subsequently, he moved to Cologne in 2000, where he studied art and theology at the Faculty of Education until 2007.
After a period of professional orientation following his studies, Nikolas Sievert began to work as an educator and group leader in the open all-day section of a primary school in Cologne (focus: early motor skill development, art and adventure education).
In addition to his enthusiasm for painting, sporting activities (and particularly martial arts) are a defining passion that he has been pursuing since his childhood. Since 2005, he teaches the martial art Ju Jutsu Do to children and adults alike at various locations in Cologne.
The confrontation with the human body associated with his long training as a martial arts teacher led to an ever deeper understanding of the possibilities for manipulating the mechanical functions of the musculature. Various workshops and seminars on the subject of sports massage and holistic or energetic approaches, such as Shiatsu and Qi Gong, mainly from the Asian region, were a counterbalance to the destructive elements of the martial arts, so that Nikolas Sievert can use his knowledge of the human body in practice not only against but also for the benefit of the human body.
Not least of all, the artistic study of man's anatomy helped him deepen his knowledge of the arrangement of the human muscles.
As a common feature in all areas of activity, the subject "human being" emerged, which Nikolas Sievert approaches from all sides in his work: As an educator, interest in developmental psychology is the focus of attention; as an artist, he is concerned with the aesthetics of the expression of the human body; and as a practitioner of martial arts, his main focus of interest is the physique of the body with its mechanical functions.
The human being then moved definitely to the center of his attention with Nikolas Sievert's training to become a certified massage therapist (2010-2013) in tandem with work. Since June 2014, he has been working as a deputy director in the family business "Massage Atelier Köln".
